Welcome to Kentucky Sports Clinic. I’m Kyle, and I’ll be using this space as a diary of sorts to share clinical experiences, services we offer, thoughts, and advice (hopefully more good than bad ) to help keep you moving toward your fitness and sports performance goals.

Our first few posts will be centered around a diagnostic imaging technique that I’ve recently started using with my patients called musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound. MSK ultrasound is a powerful and painless tool used to provide real-time images of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and cartilage throughout the body.

MSK ultrasound is particularly helpful in the diagnosis of orthopedic and sports injuries such as muscle strains/tears, joint pain, tendinopathies, bursitis, inflammation/edema, soft tissue adhesion, ligament damage, and cartilage loss.

Sometimes, pain or injury is triggered by movement, which cannot be captured in a static image. Ultrasound is performed in real time and can provide information that cannot be detected by any other imaging method. It has the added advantage of being radiation-free. In most cases, MSK ultrasound is a much more cost effective and efficient alternative to getting an MRI.

I’ll be sharing live cases that I’ve come across in our clinic. I hope you find them interesting and absolutely feel free to reach out with any questions!
